Waldhotel Health Medical Excellence opens at Bürgenstock Luxury Resort
Now open – 160 Rooms
Surrounded on three sides by a forest of oak, spruce, pine and larch, the Waldhotel was built with natural stone and wood from its surroundings integrating it into the Alpine landscape. Designed by architect Matteo Thun, the luxurious “forest hotel” features 160 rooms and suites, a 45,208-square foot medical facility, a 13,993-square-foot spa, three swimming pools, Verbena restaurant serving healthy cuisine in Mediterranean style, an educational kitchen, a library, two private dining rooms including a historic 15th century stube, a 1,722-square-foot conference room, a Boardroom, and a garden featuring 30 different herbs. All rooms and suites have terraces with gorgeous views of the Alps to the south kissed by sunshine on fine days.
This revolutionary wellness center – an officially accredited hospital itself – will have a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, therapists and nursing specialists. Diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services will be complemented by a range of preventative programs. Medical check-ups, physical therapy, rehabilitation, sports medicine, dentistry, aesthetic and cosmetic procedures, nutrition and weight management, post-operative convalescence, mental health balance and wellness programs will be featured. The Waldhotel’s medical center will also collaborate with a nearby hospital, the Kantonspital Nidwalden and the regional health authority of Lucerne/Nidwalden (Lunis).
