Waterford Hotel Group is dipping into its own well to find a replacement for retiring President Rob Winchester.

Michael Heaton, a 20-year Waterford employee who served as its VP of operations for the past eight years, will succeed Winchester on 1 January 2018.

Heaton is a board member of Marriott International’s food-and-beverage advisory committee and is a member of the American Hotel Lodging Association’s sustainability committee. He previously served as president of the Connecticut Lodging Association.
