Helping to prevent the UK hospitality skills gap after Brexit

CTH, the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality, is a global awarding body who provide gold-standard qualifications for the Tourism and Hospitality Industries.

Developed in partnership with some renowned international employers (Sheraton, Gordon Ramsay, Virgin Atlantic), their programmes give students that added value of relevance and quality they need when going out to work.

As an influential education provider, CTH felt they needed to give their contribution to face this skills-gap challenge. The aim being to talk directly to future and existing learners and remind them that the Hospitality sector is made of a vast variety of different businesses that can offer rewarding careers to anyone with an absolute passion for the industry and excellence in customer service.

The directness and production values of well-made short films was selected as the best channel for these important messages, especially considering the age-group of the main target audience.

Steve Beckworth, CTH Sales and Marketing Director commented:” This is why we came up with the idea of ‘CTH Spotlight…a series of inspiring films’, we want to ‘connect’ our students to the workplace, to make them feel a part of the industry, throughout their years of learning.

Here, in the first of that series, CTH get a peek inside the outstanding venue that is The Ritz Hotel in London. They talk to the Reservations Manager and the Front of House Manager about their studies and career path. What gets them up in the morning? What do they look for in new recruits? How important are internationally-recognised qualifications?

The second in the series of CTH Spotlight films will feature a major Chef Entrepreneur and author, who has made quite a name for himself in recent years. Watch this space!
